Have we as a nation of rational, free thinking people given up? Have we all been living under a rock, off the grid, or have had blinders on for the past three years?
It’s been 1211 days since the Senate has offered a budget for our country. Doing the math, that’s 3 1/3 years. The last time a budget resolution was presented in the Senate, was April 29, 2009! Note also that this is the last time that the Democrat controlled Senate, lead by Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev), have initiated a budget plan and presented it on the floor of the Senate.
How is this acceptable? Do you run your household this way? If your a business owner, do you or would you run your business this way? I’m certainly hoping that the answer is no to all three questions.
So if this isn’t acceptable and you’ve answered “NO” to the three questions, how is it that we’ve allowed Reid, and the Senate to get away with this for so long? The Senate is tasked with drafting Congress’s annual budget plan and for the past 1211 days, they have completely and knowingly abdicated their responsibility.
Does this sound like we as voters, who send our best and brightest to Washington to represent us, are getting our money’s worth for our investment? Why are we all not like Howard Beale from the movie Network and taking his sage advice: “I want you to go to the window, open it, stick your head out and yell: “I’m as mad as hell, and I’m not going to take this anymore.”
