The former U.S. Speaker of the House Tip O’Neill coined the phrase, “All politics is local.” Today, that was seen in action in Wheat Ridge, Colorado with the Romney Bus and Republican Team Meet & Greet at Pietra’s Pizza in Wheat Ridge.
Under sunny blue skies, more than 100 Romney and Republican supporters gathered at a local small business to encourage and support the Romney/Ryan drive for the White House.
Speaking to the gathered crowd, John Odom: Jefferson County Commissioner, District 2, said, “This is the kind of bus that a Democrat gets on it and says, nobody should have a bus like this. A Republican gets on and says everybody should have a bus like this.”
“This election is all about the American Dream”, said Republican candidate in 2012 for Colorado’s 7th Congressional District, to the gathered supporters. Coors is challenging Democratic Representative Ed Perlmutter, who is in his third term in Colorado’s 7th Congressional District.
According to Ellie Wallace, Communications Director for the Republican National Victory Team, today’s event was the first of a four day swing through Colorado holding similar events. Wallace said, “This is the third stop of the day and there have been several hundred people out see the Romney bus.”
Wallace went on to say that the morning had begun in Fountain, Colorado with the launching of the Veterans for Romney Coalition. “ Enthusiasm is clearly high in Colorado,” said Wallace.
