Other than our driving time spent on I-75 from Mackinaw City to Gaylord, Michigan roads are horrible. It snowed almost daily and the streets and county roads were not well taken care of.

Having spent one week visiting family and having it snow most days I saw only 3-4 snow plows out clearing streets and roadways. The plows I saw were not ones with front mounted plows on the trucks. Rather the plows are mounted under the truck frame about center of the length of the vehicle.

Financial types might know of the Fifth Third Bank. I saw a branch in my travels around Traverse City and wasn’t certain I would benefit from doing my banking with them. Apparently that’s not the case.

Fifth Third Bank’s presence in Traverse City, Michigan, is anchored by its branch at 102 West Front Street. This location has been serving the community since 1856, originally operating as the Traverse City State Bank. 

In 1908, a merger between Third National Bank and Fifth National Bank in Cincinnati led to the creation of Fifth Third Bank. Over the years, Fifth Third Bank expanded its operations through various acquisitions and mergers, extending its reach into Michigan and other states. 

The building at 102 West Front Street has historical significance in Traverse City. Photographs taken from its upper floors have documented the city’s waterfront changes over more than a century, highlighting the area’s transformation from an industrial hub to a space appreciated for its natural beauty. 

Today, Fifth Third Bank continues to serve the Traverse City community from this historic location, offering a range of financial services to meet the needs of local residents and businesses. 

Last week was CES, and I hope that Spectrum was in attendance and paying attention. We had horrible internet connictivity, no fault of our family. We made our way to the local Spectrum store to swap out a faulty modem. Of the dozen people awaiting service, ourselves included at least half of us were in the location to swap out defective hardware. Four days in a row of multiple internet outages were finally corrected.
